Certified Organic
Fruits & Vegetables

Microgreens
Microgreens are young vegetable seedlings that are grown until their first cotyledon  leaves develop. They are harvested by the time they are just a few inches tall and pack powerful nutritional punch with up to 40 times more vital nutrients than the mature plant; and come in a wide variety of flavors and textures. They are commonly used as a garnish to dress up and and color to any dish, but are a wonderful addition to salads, soups and sandwiches. Our farm grows a wide variety of micro greens year round including:  Sunflower, Mild Mix, Spicy Mix, Radish, Broccoli, Arugula and Mizuna. The packaging we use for our Microgreens is corn based and compostable.

Organic Vegetables
We grow over 250 varieties of seasonal vegetables. Each seed we plant is certified organic and free of chemical coatings and is chosen for flavor. Many of our varieties are heirlooms that are open pollinated and have been saved for generations. We LOVE tomatoes and each year we plant almost 1000 tomato plants so that we can offer our colorful cherry tomato mix, fat and juicy slicers, and meaty paste tomatoes for sauces and canning. Other specialties include onions, lettuces, garlic, snap peas, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, greens, cabbage, squash, potatoes, a wide variety of herbs and edible flowers!

Organic Orchard Fruits
Irving Youngberg moved to this farm in 1924 and started planting apple trees. The old orchard contains 43 trees of unique apples and some unknown varieties. We have since grafted new trees in hopes of keeping the old varieties alive and have planted another 50+ trees. Our summer apple varieties have the most intense and complex flavors. Fresh apples are available from late summer thru fall and dried apples can be purchase the rest of the year. We also have several old pear tress with amazingly sweet fruit.

Gluten Free Bakery
Two of us have severe gluten allergy so we maintain a clean kitchen and can produce a wide variety of gluten free treats. Our dairy free and gluten free cupcakes are a favorite of many. Every Saturday at the Tawas Farmer's market we bring a different sweet treat. Baked goods include cakes, cookies, pies and more.
Special orders are welcome.

Meat and Eggs
Our farm raises a variety of poultry and fowl and chicken and duck eggs are available seasonally. We care about what our birds eat. All of our birds eat Michigan grown organic whole grain feed that is soy free, and non-gmo. They also have the benefit of being pastured raised and get a large portion of their diet from plants and bugs.  This helps us with our natural pest control but more importantly ensures that our birds are healthy and lay rich flavorful eggs.
Our meat birds are a variety called Red Ranger that are grown for health and foraging ability. These birds are finished on fallen apples from our orchard. The meat is tender, succulent and has more Omega 3 fats and less saturated fat than the quicker growing Cornish Cross chickens.
This year we are raising a small number of Heritage Bourbon Red Turkeys. CSA members get priority on our meat orders.
