Our Story

We are a family owned and operated farm.Our goal is to provide a superior tasting, healthier product for our family, and yours.We farm using organic practices, in an unconventional way, focusing on building soil health and fertility, while safeguarding our resources for future generations.

Frontier Farms is situated on 43 acres in Northeastern Michigan. The farm itself has been an active produce farm for over 75 years, run by one family with a passion for growing. The legacy Irving Youngberg left behind lives on in our orchards, ponds, woodlands and pastures.

Erlend
The Brains and Financial wizard. Also known as the Plant and Tree Whisperer.
A German Master Gardener with Undergraduate and Graduate University Training in Plant Science.

Laurie
The Organizer, Unconventional Baker, and Animal Whisperer. Extensive background in business Management and founding member of Local Food Movement.

Chandra
The Muscle, Micro-Greens Manager and Record Keeper. Also our Professional Chicken Wrangler and Pig Whistler. Chandra holds a certificate in Permaculture Design and is a current student at Oregon State University Online.

Everett
The Boss, Master Digger of holes, Professional Flower Sniffer and Free Range Garden Grazer. Everett is our social calendar director, and loves all things Science and Nature.
